Remembrance Mass Saturday 20th October

Over the years many families in our community have experienced enormous heartbreak with the loss of babies during pregnancy and infancy, as well as little children on the threshold of life. At such times, many family members and friends gather together to offer their support with hearts, quite literally, overflowing with compassion.

The Church invites the parish family to also offer prayerful support and companionship by coming before God’s altar in prayer and petition. “Where two or three have gathered in my name, I am in their midst”. Accordingly, a regional Remembrance Mass has been organised for Saturday 20 October at 11:00 A. Mass will be celebrated in our own parish with Father Michael as the principal celebrant. Mass will be accompanied by sacred music and followed by refreshments in the Heritage Hall.

Even though many of our parishioners may not have suffered the loss of a baby or little child, the presence of our parishioners at such times brings comfort and consolation to those who will forever carry this separation. The normal Saturday morning Mass and confessions have been cancelled for this Saturday only. Please try to have a presence at the 11:00 AM Mass if at all possible. It’s also recommended to bring a friend to then both join Father Michael in the HH.

This occasion has been organised by Kenneally’s Funerals in partnership with the Catholic Cemeteries and Crematoria Bereavement Support Group. Enquiries 9646 6908.
