Wrap-up Inter-Parish Golf Day ~ 20 May 2018
Another wonderful day enjoyed by over 60 golfers last Sunday 20 May, which included 19 from our own parish. The Southern Highlands provided glorious weather for the occasion with bright sunshine, a brilliant blue sky, lush green fairways and a great variety of trees with a kaleidoscope of colours.
This beautiful visual experience was accompanied by a pleasantly warm day and a gentle breeze (quite heavenly, really). And following the golf, a superb meal was provided for almost 120 people. There was pork, roast beef, vegetables, pizza, party pies, chips, chicken schnitzel, gravy, and so on.
Besides the golfers, many other family members and friends had also gathered for the evening meal and presentations. All present enjoyed a hearty meal especially many of the teenagers and younger adults who served themselves mountainous meals of massive proportions.
In terms of the result, and to cut a long story short, Camden managed to win the day narrowly from our hosts at Mittagong. After a drought of about 10 years, our own parish has now won two on the trot. The presentations were full of humour and enjoyed by all. Our gratitude was extended most sincerely to our hosts who provided another memorable day.
